Happy 4th of July!

My beautiful 4th of July cupcakes!! We had a great time on this 4th of July. Ian made a feast of BBQ Ribs, Jumbalaya, chop chop salad. My friend Julie brought over yummy baked beans, grilled vegetable salad, appetizers to nosh on, and a cobbler! It was a feast! Oh, and some deliciously strong margaritas.

Early in the afternoon the kids had a lemonade stand! NB looked so sweet and as you see Colin is drinking up the product. LOL All the proceeds are going to be donated to her school. We will have to do the lemonade stand again. Thanks to everyone who stopped by.

NB is very formal fashion girl for her lemonade stand! I love it!

The kids running and jumping into the pool! They were having a blast.

No More Kindergarten

My baby had her kindergarten graduation! On to first grade. This is NB introducing herself in spanish.

Family picture with mom, dad, grandpa Ed and grandma Marcia. I love the look on NB's face.

The school had field day at Gas Works Park. It was a fun time filled with over a dozen relay events. The kids were exhausted at the end of the school day. Notice how much taller NB is?

Cute kitty picture! They are the best of friends and very cute together.

Okay, this is the last picture Colin took with my camera before he broke it! My own fault for letting him use it. I think I may have been wishing that it would break so I could get a new one! Any suggestions on a digital SLR camera? Medium price range.

Rite of Spring

The starlet! NB had her ballet recital on Saturday. They did a cowgirl dance and it was very cute. Sorry about the bad pictures, but no flash photography and my camera doesn't like that. Mabye it's time for a nice digital SLR!

Proud girl bringing her mom a rose!

Daddy's girl!

As NB likes to call them--the big girl ballerinas.

New Kitty!

I am a weak person when it comes to an adorable Siamese kitty! My neighbor found a kitty on Craigslist and wanted me to come and see them with her. Well, how could I say no especially when accompanied by your six year old. As anyone who knows me can attest to I have a big weakness for Siamese. She is a Seal Point just like my sweetheart, Misha. Now I have a blue and a seal! She is scarred but doing well. Angela has the lynx point. See, Kristin, you started it!

New yarn for Tempting sweater from Knitty. It is Debbie Bliss Rialto, seven skeins. I am about five inches, so a LONG way to go.

NB with her top from Chris in England! Doesn't she look gorgeous, Chris?

M next door turned into a princess! How cute is she?

Hemlock Ring Finished!

I started the Hemlock Ring blanket back in March. It is based on a 1942 doily pattern and updated by Brooklyntweed.blogspot.com It was a little challenging in the beginning. I would do it with no interruptions. My Dad didn't know the rules of knitting and talking while doing lace pattern. I used Malabrigo Worsted yarn in the color Paris.

We went to the Woodland Park Zoo with Eva and Shelley. I can't believe all three kids looked at the camera at the same time! They had a great time and saw the new penguin home. Very nice.

Colin and Eva driving the tractor.

Colin, my little photographer, took this picture of Chai! It looks pretty good.

NB on her new Barbie scooter.

We have had very HOT weather this week, so to escape I took the kids to Discovery Park. It's so shady and cool there. They have a great kids play area with a zip line, which NB just loves. There are also tons of hiking trail and a beach and lighthouse.

Spring if FINALLY here!

Here is our beautiful Cherry Tree in bloom! I love it. The blooms on it are gorgeous. Our yard has amazing Spring flowers. After our winter I am ready for spring flowers and weather. Sun for more than two days in a row would be lovely.

A view from our living room window! Spectacular.

This is our Tree Peony. I am not sure what variety, but the blooms are incredible. This is the bloom in the morning.

This is the bloom in the afternoon. The flowers stay on the tree for quite awhile, so come by and see it.

This is the Bleeding Heart.

Friday Night was La Fiesta Latina at NB school. There a potluck, crafts, performances... A Latin Dance Troupe was performing... Can you tell which child doesn't belong? Where is NB? Yes, there is my daughter up on stage with the dance troupe!?

They had her dance on center stage and here are the pictures! She was not the least bit shy. Nice of the troupe to share their performance.

Where's Toto?

This past weekend I made a trip to wichita, Kansas to see Ian. The last time I was in Wichita I was 10 years old, so I was excited to see it again after all these years. It is actually a pretty fun city full of great steak houses and BBQ. As many of you know, I LOVE BBQ. Wichita is a carnivore paradise! I may have to be a vegetarian for a week or so to put my body back in balance.

My friends Jodi and Mark came up from Oklahoma City. First we went to have lunch at B&K BBQ, it's a meat-fest buffet. This restaurant looks like it is in an old barn with chandeliers on the ceiling with live blues music. Sorry no pictures, apparently, I was too busy eating and visiting.

After lunch we went to see a house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. It was beautiful. Next time we will have to arrange for a tour http://home.onemain.com/~allenlam/.

The beautiful garden concrete vases around the perimeter of the yard. Inside there is a beautiful garden and koi pond.

Mark and Ian looking at all the beautiful houses. You can tell Ian is really studying the architecture.

Coolest mailbox ever at the Cowtown Museum. We didn't go in as they were preparing for the Cowboys Ball!

Colin's scootering outfit--hat, scarf, diaper and shoes. It was a warm day and he needed to wear his hat and scarf.
