Colin's First Day of School

I am VERY behind on my blogging once again! Colin on his first day of school. He was so excited about going to school and getting on the bus. He loves school and is talking more and more every day.

This is what happens when you have an older sister that does ballet! Poor Colin. Actually, he loved every minute of it!

First Day of School

NB ready for her first day of first grade. She was very excited and has been counting the days until school starts.

NB with her friend Alex at school. And yes that is a tattoo on her arm! My Mom would HATE that.

We walked to school with our two neighbors and their kids Parker and Erin.

Beach Holiday!

We had our holiday to the Oregon Coast and rented a beach house in Waldport, Oregon! The house is great and right on the beach. You open the door and off the kids go. What was even better is the neighbors had kids the same age, so it was like one big party for them.

Here are the girls playing in the surf and contemplating what they are going to build in the sand!

We mistakenly called it a sand castle when actually it was a magical shell tree! We should have known.

NB and Colin playing in the sun. Just a note it LOOKS really warm but it wasn't. The kids just notice it less than me who is a big chicken if it is a tiny bit cold.

A funny piece of kelp that looks like a palm tree!

Colin loving his sisters hat I knit for her.

Birthday Boy

Happy 4th birthday to Colin! Well it was last month, but better late than never on my blog post! He had a Thomas the Train birthday party at home with friends and family. It was a very fun day and Colin was super excited. He really enjoyed playing with all of his friends. Everyone made it a very special day for him.

Cute Thomas cake and about to sing Happy Birthday.

Colin eating cake very neatly! Grandpa Ed will enjoy these pictures. Not feeling quesy are you?

Pinata time and I have to say all kids were very well behaved unlike myself as a kid when it came to the Pinata.

Nana's House

This last week I was in Portland working on my grandmother's humungous yard! My cousin came to help and after three days working eight hours a day we got it finished! Looks pretty good, huh? After that I like my small yard just fine.

Isn't her house cute? My grandparents had it built in 1950. Good memories for me there!

Is this not the most beautiful Hydrangea? They are very vibrant and colorful.

We brought my grandmother home for a few hours to have dinner in her beautiful backyard. She had a great time and I think it was really nice for her to be home for a bit. She loved the yard too! Her foster care is three blocks from her house, so we can just wheel her home. I think she looks really good.

The day after I cam back from Portland Ian and I had a little getaway to Alderbrook Resort in Hood Canal. We had a lovely time and met some friends from Las Vegas. Judy is the daughter of Irene who used to be my babysitter when I was young. I spent a lot of weekends with their family!

Here is the dock at sunset. It is a wonderful place and there is a lot to do or do nothing at all. Very kid and dog friendly too! And no weight restrictions...on dogs that is.

Here is a typical Seattle skyline picture with a ferry in front!

Mini Me

This is a picture of my grandmother, mom and me in a photo booth! How much do Colin and I look a like? It's a little scary. I showed NB the picture and she said, "that's Colin"! Very funny. He looks like me and acts like Ian. LOL

The last few days have been very stressful as I had to find a place for my grandmother to live in just a couple of days. She needed foster care and I found this beautiful foster care three blocks from her house. The house is wonderful and the people are warm and caring. I couldn't asked for a better place. The best thing is that she seems pretty happy. Well, not as happy as being at home, but a close second. I am so glad to have her in a safe place being taken care of by wonderful staff.

Happy 4th of July!

My beautiful 4th of July cupcakes!! We had a great time on this 4th of July. Ian made a feast of BBQ Ribs, Jumbalaya, chop chop salad. My friend Julie brought over yummy baked beans, grilled vegetable salad, appetizers to nosh on, and a cobbler! It was a feast! Oh, and some deliciously strong margaritas.

Early in the afternoon the kids had a lemonade stand! NB looked so sweet and as you see Colin is drinking up the product. LOL All the proceeds are going to be donated to her school. We will have to do the lemonade stand again. Thanks to everyone who stopped by.

NB is very formal fashion girl for her lemonade stand! I love it!

The kids running and jumping into the pool! They were having a blast.
