Birthday Number Three!

My baby turned three! We had his party at the Meridian Playfield. A lovely park in the heart of Wallingford. Colin had a great time and ran all afternoon. That boy sure has a lot of energy. He gave Auntie Maurine quite a workout!! It was a fun day of playing and visiting with friends and family!

Yummm...I really want to dig my hands into that yummy cake! Can I resist? The cake was our fav white chocolate strawberry from Simply Desserts.

All this cake for me!

Colin really liked opening his presents with a little help from Mom. He was a lucky boy and got some terrific birthday presents. I think his favorite was the firetruck and his new sleeping bag.

Stitch n Pitch

I went to the Mariners Stitch n Pitch game last night with my good friend Kristin! We had a great time. Our seats were pretty high up, so it wasn't so easy to keep track of the game. Nice to see all of the knitters and their projects. Cute t-shirts, too.

There were so many yarn stores at the game that it was hard not to be tempted! I did buy a skein of Socks that Rock in the color lucy, which is a color made for a blogger and her Siamese. What do you think? A good match to Chai. I think my next project may have to be Siamese Socks. A also bought some Earl Grey Bonbon candy from Churchmouse. I LOVE that yarn store.

I finished my Ana Bandana. I love this hat it looks great on and it was a fast and easy knit. Can be a bit challenging at the end. You need to read the instructions carefully. The skein does make two--one for you and a friend!

My very cute model!

Look at how nice the folds are? I love it.

Seattle Night Out

I organized our area block party, which is part of the city wide Seattle Night Out. “Night Out” is a national Crime Prevention event. It is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, increase neighborhood support in anti-crime efforts, and unite our communities. It is a great chance to learn about crime prevention, while also celebrating your community and spending time with your neighbors.

It was a fun night visiting with our neighbors and meeting new ones.

I am sure you can tell what I brought for the block party? Blueberry cupcakes! The recipe is from Trophy Cupcakes and they were wonderful! Perfect for an August get-together.

This was the ONLY 30 seconds that Colin sat down in the three hours we were out there. He literally ran the entire time!

Our neighbor, Nancy made an ice cream stand for the kids! They had a great time selling their wares!

The one who got the most attention was Monty! He is visiting us for a few days. He is a great dog and so easy and mellow! We LOVE Monty!!
