Cute Clothes

I finished the Monica Tank Top from Knitty last summer, but it didn't really fit. It still has some issues--the straps are too long and the body is a bit short, but it should work for this summer.

Yarn: Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece
Colors: Provincial Rose. Tea Rose

This toile dress is just the cutest ever! I love it and so does Nonabella. We are going to Las Vegas in a week and it's the perfect dress for the hot days there.

I love these vans and I think Uncle Mark would approve!! My little rock n roll boy! Not the greatest picture, because he was moving way too fast!

Lady Eleanor Finished!

My Lady Eleanor is FINALLY finished!! I won't even tell you how long it took me to knit. A lot of starting and stopping with this one. I do like Enterlac knitting and the picking up of stitches is relaxing to me. I decided not to do the fringe mainly because I ran out of yarn.

I finished Lady Eleanor at my friend Shelley's family cabin. Perfect place to end a long project with a view and a cup of tea!

Yarn: Noro Silk Garden
Color: 241
Skeins: 10
Needles: 10.5

Here is a picture of where we were. The cabin is located between Gig Harbor and Purdy, Washington. We relaxed, watched the kids play, played on the beach, knitted, grilled salmon! Ahhhh....the life!

What does a two year old see?

Shelley's daughter Eva. She just sat down and picked up the needle in her hand and started knitting. Not too bad for a four year old! I believe she is a natural born knitter. The entire next day she kept asking if she could do some more knitting!

LYS Tour, Kids, House

I was well behaved and only went to four of the 24 shops on the LYS Tour (for you non-knitters that is local yarn store!). They were Village Yarn and Tea, Tricoter, Bad Woman Yarn and Hilltop. Had to go in between kids! I bought a skein of Claudia Hand Painted yarn at Village yarn and Tea-color blue fields and they gave away a nice summer sock pattern. At Tricoter I bought a skein of Socks That Rock in the color Footzey Foo. I had been wanting Footzey Foo for awhile to do another Chevron Scarf. Can you tell what my favorite colors are??

Colin looking mighty cool on our few days of hot weather in Seattle! It did get in the 90's believe-it-or-not. He is just the cutest boy ;)

We moved the bedroom upstairs this weekend! It is so nice...we love it! Still quite a few things to get done. The projects still are never ending. No moving up clothes until the closets are finished. Colin seems to think the bed is okay with him. Prime jumping area!

This is the landing at the top of the stairs. Enough room for either a comfy chair or a computer desk. Not sure which yet.

Here is a picture of Ian's finished railing! It looks beautiful. Well worth that PAINSTAKING trip to Arvid's Hardwoods! I'm not so good or patient at the wood store. Well worth the effort!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! To my Mom who showed me the way and to my kids who make every day a grand adventure. It's a great Mother's Day. Nonabella and Colin made little presents at school and daycare. The best Mother's Day present of all was when Colin climbed on my lap and gave me an extra long cuddle!

I think you all will enjoy this. Thanks to my cousin Connie for sending it to me!

In a zoo in California, a mother tiger gave birth to a rare set of triplet tiger cubs. Unfortunately, due to complications in the pregnancy, the cubs were born prematurely and due to their tiny size, they died shortly after birth.

The mother tiger after recovering from the delivery, suddenly started to decline in health, although physically she was fine. The veterinarians felt that the loss of her litter had caused the tigress to fall into a depression. The doctors decided that if the tigress could surrogate another mother's cubs, perhaps she would improve.

After checking with many other zoos across the country, the depressing news was that there were no tiger cubs of the right age to introduce to the mourning mother. The veterinarians decided to try something that had never been tried in a zoo environment. Sometimes a mother of one species will take on the care of a different species. The only 'orphans' that could be found quickly, were a litter of weanling pigs. The zoo keepers and vets wrapped the piglets in tiger skin and placed the babies around the mother tiger. Would they become cubs or pork chops??

Goldilock's Tea Party

NB went to a Tea Party that was put on as part of an auction to benefit her school. The girls all brought their teddy bears and painted little shirts for the bears and decorated little photo frames! The girls table was seriously the cutest thing EVER and all the Moms' had a treat of afternoon tea too! It was a wonderful afternoon for everyone.

Look at these amazing looking cookies and treats!

Ian's Beautiful Banister

Ian is almost finished making the banister for upstairs! Didn't he do a beautiful job! The top rail still need to go on and then stain. Never a dull moment when you are remodeling your 90 year old house. Can you tell which is the boys room and which is the girls??

I promise knitting content coming soon!
