Somedays You Just Shouldn't Get Out of Bed!

I made this wonderful Salted Chocolate Tart for a birthday on Saturday. When I went to the refrigerator I saw that some little urchin had ran her fingers through the chocolate. She then said, "I was just checking the chocolate for you, Mom!". Thanks to the chocolate ganache it was easily fixed and off to the party we went.

Okay, so here is the part where I have should have stayed in bed!

Took the kids to the Kids' Gym at the YMCA and a little boy hit Colin with his toy ring. Poor boy. He was okay just needed some comforting.

I decide we should leave so we would have plenty of time to get ready. Go to the front desk and they had given my car keys to someone else. Now I have to wait for the keys to come back with two impatient kids. Colin then takes off out the front door, which is right off of a major busy street (50th for you Seattle people). I grab my bag and run out the door and my cell phone flies out along with all the gummy bears Krisitin has just given the kids!

Don't call me on my cell phone! As you can see I am no longer able to answer any calls. Good thing the iPhone comes out July 11th! Now I really do have a reason to get it!

Happy Bedroom Dance

Nonabella got her new bed and now her room is all set up! The bed is from the Land of Nod, one of my favorite kid stores. I walked in and the sales person came up to me and said the bed was half off...score. Nothing better than a good sale. It is so cute and looks perfect in her Ballerina Pink room. That is actually a color at Benjamin Moore!

Thanks Kristin and Yale for the mattress! You both are STARS!

Happy bedroom dance!

Look at the detail of the roses. Think Ian would mind if I had pink roses in our room? Think not. Darn.

Dad and daughter celebrating. I have to say this was the easiest bed to put together. Took a whole five minutes.

Look at how cute this chandelier is! The name is Doe, a Dear, a Female Chandelier How cute is that? Once again I LOVE the Land of NOD! Too bad Grandpa keeps banging his head on it. It's at kid height! So be warned.

Happy Summer Solstice

Its was a semi nice day for the first day of summer! A nice 77 degrees, which I have to admit was a bit refreshing after the 108 degree days in Las Vegas. We went to the Wallingford Playfield wading pool (our neighborhood park). Clouds in the sky or not, the kids had a great time.

On Friday Nonabella had her first day of language camp for her new school John Stanford International School. She will be in Spanish language immersion. Very exciting!

Viva Las Vegas

We spent the last two weeks in Las Vegas visiting family and friends. It was a great time although a bit on the hot side for June. I grew up there and it was even a hot June for me! A 108 degrees on most days. My friend Chris from the UK met us there and we drove to Disneyland and went to Newport Beach. I could have stayed a lot longer at the beach. We had big ideas of starting and finishing the Lucy Bag, but we were too exhausted.

Nonabella being inspired at the Disney Princess Faire. All those princesses in one place. I think she could have spent the entire day there!

A quiz--can you tell who her favorite princess is?

Nonabella's first cotton candy or cotton floss as Chris from England calls it. Sorry Chris I think cotton candy sounds better!!

Nonabella and Colin going on the Bug's Life 3D ride ... seriously such a scary ride for kids and big kids. Colin was screaming in terror. Not good.

Ahh, our relaxing stop at Newport Beach! It was so beautiful and the kids loved the ocean.

We went to the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. It is amazing. Anyone who needs to get away from the craziness and likes ocean life should visit here.

Closets are in!

The California Closets were installed on Monday and they are lovely. So much better than a bar and a shelf. We have room for everything and a lot of space left over. I still haven't brought my clothes up. I am going through and sorting out all the things that don't fit and that I haven't worn in awhile. That is such a hard job.

Jan's Closet

Ian's Closet. The electronic equipment will be in here, hiding. No need to see that stuff. Poor guy lost space for electronics and clothes hamper.

NB's Closet. Her closet is filling up quickly.

Colin's Closet. Colin has A LOT of space to grow! Not as many clothes for the boys'.

The wood blinds just came and Ian installed them yesterday! Chai is wondering what is on his sun spot. That is when there is SUN here in Seattle : )

New HDTV in our bedroom. A little overboard, but awesome. Can you tell who my fave Lostie is??

Pretty Chai...look at those eyes! So hard to capture truly how beautiful he is.
